I wonder what Velvet and the Chi's were thinking while the water was gushing out like a gyser.  Actually it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Most of the water ran under the bathroom cabinet and into the basement.  The water ran into the Christmas storage room and left about 1 inch of standing water. We brought her home yesterday after 3 days in the doggy hospital. They had to remove her spleen in the operation..but my husband does not have a spleen...so I guess she does not need it much. Man, I was not a happy camper.  I surely do miss my old vet in Chesterfield. I can't handle another puppy right now.  Four dogs are just too much for me.  Lexie is a great puppy and she is keeping her poos on the pee pads which is great.  She also doesn't chew stuff, and is quiet.  ...but still...   Just the smell of her poo brings flashbacks and floods of yucky emotions back.  I just can't handle it now. I groomed Velvet while watching Law and Order this evening.  I loved that.  It is very therapeutic.  Velvet likes it too.I woke up after midnight and just couldn't get back to sleep. When Michelle cleaned up a tiny poo in the puppy area (the Chihuahua's poos are fabously tiny)she asked "What is this?  Is it a worm?"  I went over to inspect, and sure enough,  there were 2 big fat worms in the poo. Carol spent the night at the animal hospital because she is getting spayed tomorrow.  These guys are so big.  They range in weight from 13-17 pounds. Francie's and Chevy's puppies are coming here for a vacation.  We set up 2 puppy playpen areas and 2 big crates.  The back yard is completely fenced in, so they will be able to go out and play. Peanut had never had it before.  She loves it and does very well with it.  She gets the necks and wings and Velvet gets the bigger pieces. We actually got on the road at 6:30 this morning.  By 8:30 Jill was crying and saying she wanted to go home.  Thank goodness that was only a brief moment.  The girls did well today. They met Kristy, the other breeder, who took Lacey to her house and got her settled in.  Once settled, Kristy had to go back to work for a few hours.  Kristy said when she got home Lacey had already had 2 puppies.  She then had 7 more puppies. She was sooo excited when I got her leash and she saw she was going to go with me.  Even though she had never been in that nursing home before, she behaved perfectly.  I kept her with me for a couple hours then took her back home.
