We are getting puppies

We are getting 3 pups that are out of Lincoln Kami. They are coming to us from Canine Crossroads in Texas next week. They will be 8 weeks old and already spayed/neutered and ready for new homes. I'll tell you their story later. Right now it is way past my bedtime. With my new job I have to get up at 3:00 in the morning. That means I have to go to bed with the chickens.

Abby is really not pregnant

We are not having puppies after all. Did I already mention that. I'm so sad. Now what? Abby need to find a home now. All that $$ spent on breeding her and getting her here, now I need to give her away to a great home. Know anybody that wants a great dog that does shed? Just let me know and I can hook you up. A good arm for throwing balls for her is required.

Late entry

Man...this is what I get for writing this entry over a month late...I can't remember what happened. Sometime in February we went to a romp. I took Velvet and Abby. They had a blast. Abby found a ball and a pre-teen boy to throw it for her. She could have chased that ball all day, she loved it. There were some Lincoln Manor pups there. It was a fun family reunion. Ginger, from Ashes and Meeko, was there. She has really lightened up and is quite the beauty. Cooper, from Lacy and DaVinci, was there. I'm so surprised at how small he is. He is 8 months old and not even 40 pounds. He has a wonderful coat and is just an all around delight. We had so much fun.

New job

I started a new job today. I feel so sought-after. I'm telling you...nursing is the profession to be in now. I had as many job offers as I had interviews. The position I choose isn't the hightest paying one up front. However, I should get a raise in a few months, and I should be able to end up working inpatient hospice which is what I so want.

New Neighbors

We still haven't fixed the gate, so I have to go outside with the girls when they go out. Yesterday morning I rolled out of bed, threw a robe on, and at the last second decided to put a long coat on, and took the dogs out. Dang, I need to remember I'm not out in the country anymore. I'm used to being able to go out in the back yard in my jammies and not worrying about anybody seeing me. I'm so glad I thought to put a long coat on. Just a few minutes after we were out there, the neighbor on one side went out with her dogs too. They have a beautiful chocolate Lab and a um...I foget what kind of mix the other was. The Lab came bounding up to the fence (It is about a 4 1/2 ft or so privacy fence). She stood up on her back legs and peered her nose and eyes over the top of the fence. Abby came up to her and did the same. Velvet wasnt' quite tall enough, so she was a kangadoodle in order to greet her new neighbor. Their other dog was on a leash was was just barking away. The neighbor said they want to play. There is another neighbor who brings his dogs over there to play and that is what their dogs want to do. This is going to be good. I told her that would be good for them to get together and play, just not at 8:00 saturday morning (thinking in my head...if I had brushed my teeth/hair and gotten dressed then I'd love to get them together now). I am excited though at having good neighbors. Just to clarify: all but one of my neighbors at my old house were terrific.

I have doodles again

I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to go get Velvet and Abby and bring them to my new house. They certainly seem very happy to be here with me. They get along just fine with Peanut. It is just one big Doodle party here now.
Here is Abby

Now we have to fix the gate so they can run outside without someone being out there with them.

The Traffic Report

I live in the big city of Indianapolis now. I don't live near it, I live in it. We live on a busy street and we can't back out of our driveway during rush hour. The other evening I got stuck in the mud in the backyard trying to turn around. I wasn't just a little stuck...I was stuck in thar gooood. Michelle and I worked and worked at it. She even jacked it up and put something under the tires, to no avail. We gave up and waited until yesterday to try again. Her parents came over to help. So just imagine this...I was "driving", Michelle and her parents were in the front trying to push me back; I spun the tires flinging mud all over Michelle's parents, especially the mom. I wanted to die. Thank goodness they are good sports. Anyway...know what we used to finally get some traction? Kitty litter of course, the good clumping kind.

I really got sidetracked, I was going to talk about the traffic. Let's see, where was I? Oh yeah, old country roads vs over passes and 14 lane highways...shiver... So, anytime we go anyplace we have to face a bunch of traffic. I'm so not used to that. I'm used to living out surrounded by corn fields and maybe getting stuck behind a tractor or a truck loaded with bales of hay or something. I hate city driving. When I deliver pups to the airports I always try to get them on a 6:00a.m. flight just so I have to have them there by 4:00a.m. and beat all the Indy traffic. Well, bad news is there is no getting away from facing the traffic now. The good news is I think I'm getting used to it already. Yesterday as I was merging on to 465 from I70 I found myself reaching for my cell phone to call my mom. It was a habit for me to make phone calls when I would be driving out in the country with little/no other traffic. As soon as I realized what I was doing yesterday I put the phone down. I am also starting to pass people that are driving too slow. whooohooo I'm getting brave.

The doods are fine and having a great time. Everyday is a doodle romp for them.

The low and dirty lowdown

O.k. o.k. alright already....I don't have time for a long entry so here is the really quick scoop:

-All of Rosie's puppies have gone home now
-Rosie is spayed and living forever in her forever home
-Chrissy has gone on to her forever home in SC
-Abby arrived from Canada. She is an F1 adult Labradoodle that is pregnant by a little Poodle. She has very excellent health test results. The pups are due March 3rd and we have plenty of available pups in that litter.
-We have available puppies from a litter we are sharing with another breeder. The mom is our Kami (she went with me to be on the Today Show when she was a puppy). The pups are in Texas at www.caninecrossroads.com
-A guardian family's house burned. They and their 5 doods (Chevy, Francie, Chloe, Mazie, Tucker) are staying at our house along with Velvet and Abby.
-I moved to Indianapolis. I no long have the same phone number or insightbb.com email address.
-I...um...have a new life partner. Her name is Michelle.
-I start a new job closer my new house next week. I'll be working 3 12 hour day shifts a week and am really excited.
-My van died and I had to buy a new one. It has a remote start that is neater than sliced bread.
