Lacey and DaVinci's puppies

We paid a visit to Lacey, DaVinci, Cloe (a Deni/Koby adult puppy pet that lives in the same home) and the puppies. They are as beautiful and their pups from Lacey's first 2 litters. Lacey looks great, you'd never even know she has puppies. DaVinci is looking dapper. They say he is a different dog since he got neutered last month. He has calmed way down and sleeps all the time.
We weighed and microchipped the puppies while we were there. They are way so much bigger than PB's puppies, but not as old.
Harley is a pretty boy. He is going to have a beautiful coat and look like his mother when he grows up. He weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces.
Lexie is the next to smallest at 3 pounds 10 ounces.
Miley weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces.
Bernie is the biggest at 4 pounds 5 ounces.
Pearl is my favorite. I love her coat. It is glossy and will be a terrific fleeces. She is going to look like a black version of her mom when she grows up. She weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces.
Betty is the smallest at 3 pounds 4 ounces.
Marley is the second biggest at 4 pounds 3 ounces.

Peanut and Bradley's puppies

Just look at these puppies. They are so cute and so tiny. It is hilarious to see them running around and playing and doing the same things as the doodle puppies, but in micro form.
This is Ginter (Gunter), also known as The Crow. He is the first born and the biggest. He weighs a whopping two pounds.
Here is Jelliehere is another picture of herShe is the second born, the only girl, and the smallest of the litter, 1 pound 7 ounces. She is definitely her mother's daughter. Michelle wants to keep her.
This is Tod/Tyler with a There is another pictureThis one is my favorite. If we were keeping one, he would be my choice. He is so cute, has great markings, and will have a long coat. He is the smallest boy, 1 pound 8 ounces.
This is Wall E, aka Tyler with 3 spots. He weighs 1 pound 11 ounces. He is the cuddler of the bunch. He just wants a nice old comfy cozy lap in which to sleep. He is going to make someone very happy. Kristin hopes she will get to take him when she gets an apartment.

Peanut goes back to the vet

Peanut started having diarrhea again. She is no where near as bad as last time. It just started yesterday and is not total liquid (yet). I left work early (I still looove my job) and took her to the vet that is less than a block from my house. I really like this vet. It is the first time I met her. She called the vet hospital were PB was before and found out what all they tested her for and treated her with. The hospital never did figure out just what it was. They simply treated her broad spectrum antibiotics and deworming. This vet did an additional test and found out exactly what it is, and gave me the medicine for it. She also gave me medicine for Bradley to treat him so they won't pass it back it and forth. Total cost? Less than $50.00. I like this vet.

Poor Fred

Michelle's favorite puppy's name is Fred. Right from the very beginning Fred was the most talkative and most mobile one in the pack. He seemed perfectly normal and healthy. Over time he gradually became skinny and got a big head. Yesterday he started crying more, and by night time he yelled whenever he was awake. Today he started screaming whenever he was awake. We can no longer put off what needs to be done. It is completely obvious he is hydrocephalic (water on the brain), has a horrible headache, and will die an agonizing death if we don't have it done humanely. I called around to find a vet that is open and will see us right away. Today is Saturday (of course). I ended up going to the vet hospital where Peanut Butter was recently. Because Poor Fred is so tiny, less than a pound, they had to have him breathe in some sleepy-time gas so he would be asleep (literally) when they injected the euthanasia serum directly into his heart. Poor Fred is dead. This has really affected Michelle. It was kind of hard on me too, but I've been around and have learned not to let myself get too attached anymore. For Michelle though, this is her first litter and this was her favorite puppy. This is the puppy she always held whenever she watched TV or cruised the 'net. She loves her Chihuahua's and was all set to keep this little puppy. She couldn't/didn't go to the vet with me. Poor Michelle, I hate seeing her go through this. I understand though, I've been there/done that/wrote the book.

Peanut now has four puppies. She is doing well now.

Lacey and DaVinci have puppies!!

Oh my goodness! I just found out Lacey had puppies at her guardian's house last week. I didn't even know for sure she was pregnant. Lacey and DaVinci live at the same guardian home. Their parents tried to keep them apart during her cycle so she wouldn't get pregnant this cycle. Well stuff happens and they did get hooked up once or twice. That is all it took. She has 7 puppies. She has:
1 chocolate girl
1 chocolate boy
3 black girls
2 black boys
They seem to all be healthy and beautiful.
The guardian daddy built a whelping box and they are going to raise the pups.

PB comes home

Peanut Butter got to come home from the hospital today. Let's see...a Sunday night shift trip to the ER and a 24 hour stay in the hospital...do you think maybe it was expensive? Yes, as a matter of fact it was. It was around $550.00 or so. We are going to continue syringe feeding until PB feels better. I tried tube feeding them, but they choked more then the doodle puppies. I just didn't feel comfortable doing it. Michelle is such a big help. She is pitching right in and doing as much, if not more, than I am. She is more than happy to do what needs to be done as long as I let her know what to do. I'm so not used to that. It is great. I was able to go to work today because Michelle was home and fed the pups. Anyway, we brought PB home and she is much better.

Peanut goes to the hospital

Over the past couple of days, PB's stools have become more and more diarrhea'ish. By this evening is was pure liquid and just constantly coming out of her like a faucet. She did not have control over her bowels. The poor doggie had this crazed look in her eyes and she was licking her back end raw. She is so little that I knew she was dehydrated and couldn't wait until tomorrow to go to the doctor. Michelle and I bundled her up and took her to the doggie hospital. They kept her there and put her on IV fluids. I wanted to cry. For starters, I felt badly for PB. She looked really bad and I knew she felt as bad as she looked. For selfish reasons I wanted to cry because now I have 5 baby puppies to feed and take care of. Maaaannn I so don't want to go through this.

dead puppy

Oh man, I so should know better. I should have either slept with Peanut Butter and her puppies, or let them sleep with us. I knew better. Instead, I put them in a big crate in another room, put my ear plugs in (grrrr I was so wrong), and went to bed. When Michelle got up this morning and checked on them, she brought a dead puppy to me. A skull-cap size of the head was gone and one of the eyes was bulged. My guess is it was born feet first and the head was stuck in PB for awhile. Since I wasn't there to pull her (yes, of course she was a beautiful girl) so much pressure built up in her, the top of her head blew open. It was horrible, like a horror movie.
The rest of the puppies are doing very well. Peanut Butter is a great mom.

puppies

We got 5 healthy cute Chihuahua puppies. I'll tell you all about it later. Right now I can barely keep my eyes open.

Another update

I absolutely love my prison job. It is so cool. This is the same prison where a couple pups I donated were trained. Let's see...what else is going on.

-Maureen went to her forever home. Although she did pass her hip testing, I decided not to keep her back for breeding. I love my day job and want to scale back my breeding program.
-DaVinci had surgery to remove some skin cancer. The vet says it is not hereditary and it is not something he could pass to his puppies.
-Francie did not get pregnant.
-Tucker is a daddy. He mated with a southern girl.
-Peanut is in labor. This is my first nondoodle litter and I'm excited.
-A neighbor brought over a Chihuahua last week. This little dog just wondered into his home through his doggie door. He has an 8 ft privacy fence. Now just tell me how she managed to scale that fence to get in his yard. I'll tell you what I think. I think Grandma died and the family didn't want to mess with her elderly dog so they tossed her into Travis' back yard. Travis (neighbor) has an immunosuppressed dog and couldn't keep a stray around. I took her thinking it wouldn't take too long to find her family. I carried her around the neighborhood talking to neighbors hoping someone would come running out saying "there is my baby". Well, not only did that not happen, I found a dirty matted stray Shih Tzu. One of the neighbors said they have seen him wondering around for a while. Man...what else could I do? I took him home. I kept him for a week before turning him over to the Shih Tzu rescue. They put him in a foster home and are going to adopt him out. In the time I had him I gave him 3 baths, worked out his mats, de-flea'd him, de-wormed him (he was crawling with fleas and his poo was crawling with wiggly worms), and gave him lots of lovin'. He was a friendly happy little guy and he will make a terrific pet. Unfortunately he is still intact and he and Bradly had a pee war going on. Anyway, back to the stray Chihuahua...well I'll save her for another post. Anybody want a chihuahua?
I'm sure there is lots more to tell, but I need to get up and get cleaning.

what's happened?

Where have you been? You've missed all the excitement. That is o.k. (I guess)...I'll fill you in:

-All of Francie's puppies have forever families except Maureen.
-Maureen passed her pre-breeding hip testing and is looking for a forever-type
of guardian family who wants to help raise the puppies.
-Peanut Butter has a live-in husband. He is a cute adult Chihuahua stud boy.
-Bessie cycled and went to KY to breed with a beautiful Goldendoodle.
Unfortunately, it was too late in her cycle and they didn't breed.
-Francie cycled and was bred via Artificial Insemination (Ally and I did one of the
AI's all by ourselves while Michelle sat in the living room trying not to know what
was going on).
-Peanut Butter and Bradley just finished breeding.
-We are going to donate a puppy to the Dave Thomas Foundation.
-I am the Director of Nurses at the Women's Prison.

Yumm...erp! Poor Velvet and Peanut didn't get to have any chicken the entire time the puppies were here. It was high time for them to have some. Mmmm...when I took the chicken out of the fridge it about knocked me over with the smell. Well, that is a bit of an exageration, but it was smelling ripe. Velvet and Peanut thought it smelled divine. They also seemed to think it tasted wonderful. I hope it doesn't give them gas.

We get to leave to pick Michelle up at the airport in 15 minutes!

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

Wow, no puppies here. No Jillie Beans here (Jill and Bry spent the night at their dad's). It was just Velvet and Peanut the the bedroom with me. Peanut made too much noise and too much moving around. She kept burrowing under the covers and digging at the mattress. Hmmm...Michelle wasn't here...Peanut's furry little doggie bottom got to sleep upstairs with Kristin.

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

The puppies have slept the night through without much of a peep for the past couple of nights. They also haven't messed in the crate much. Now that they are used to it here, it is time for them to go back home. It has been nice spending time with them and getting to know each of them. I've been toying with the idea of keeping Andy and Reba here until they find homes. That really isn't practal though. There are a couple families now interested in puppies and they want to come see them. The pups all need to be in the same location for that.

Speaking of demon dogs (no, I guess we weren't speaking of demon dogs), did I tell you what Peanut Butter has been doing? I've been feeding the puppies outside in about 4 different dishes. If Peanut is out there when there is food, she will stand there and keep the puppies away. If a pup comes over to eat, Peanut will bark and snarl all evil like and chase the pup away. She sounds like she is going to rip their livers out. It is really kind of funny because she is 1/3 their size and any one of them could take her down. In order to make sure the pups don't starve, I've been trying to keep Peanut inside when the pups are eating. Jill lets Peanut out if I'm not paying attention.

Monday, July 07, 2008

Michelle went to Connecticut on business today. She won't be back until late Thursday night. Kristin is helping me with the puppies. She took pictures of them. She is wanting to be a photographer and has a good eye for taking pictures.

Speaking of pictures of the puppies. I have always used Shutterfly, a photo hosting site. Well, they have changed and we can no longer host pictures there to post other places. Now I'm using Photobucket, but can't figure out how to make the pictures smaller when I put them on the website.

Cute puppy, but the picture is too big. This is Miranda, by the way. She is the smallest in the litter, followed by Mickey.

Sunday, July 06, 2008

Today all the pups had another round of deworming, shots, heartworm/flea/tick treatment, and got weighed. Oh man, I forgot to trim their nails. I miss Liuda, she always trimmed their nails on bath days and shot days. Did I ever tell you Liuda had her baby? She has a healthy boy.

Carol went home

This is Carol

Her new name is Chloe and she moved to MN.
Today I got up bright and early, let the pups out, put Carol's crate and everything in the van...and was sick. Oh man, I felt terrible and honestly didn't think I was going to be able make it. Thank goodness Michelle got up to help. I didn't wake her up, she got up all on her own to help. Wow, still not used to that. The best we could figure is I was having caffeine withdrawals. Michelle drove us to the airport. Everything went just fine. On the way back Michelle stopped and got some caffeine for me. That really helped and I felt better after that.

Two pups out, seven to go.

I'm proud to be an American

Today Michelle and Kristin took care of the puppies. I Spent the morning getting Carol's flight arranged and packing her crate and getting her all ready to go. I had to go to work at 1:00pm and worked until 2:00a.m.

Thursday, July 03, 2008

It is all coming back to me

This morning I got up at 5:30, let the pups out, cleaned up the crate (it wasn't too horribly bad), did a load of laundry, had breakfast, got ready for work, got Jill up and ready, brought the pups back in and put them in the crate, and left. Michelle text a couple hours later asking how long the pups are going to be with us. Uh oh, that is not a good sign. She asked who the spokesperson of the litter is. Apparently one of the pups has been barking and whining nonstop since I brought them back inside. I came home for lunch, let the pups outside, cleaned up their area, ate a really quick lunch and brought them back in. It was raining so they weren't too excited to go out in the yard. Doesn't it figure...we spent all that time last night bathing the pups and now they are a muddy mess already. I really wanted to get some good pictures of them today looking all fluffy and adorable. After work I ran home and let them back out for just a little bit. We had to hurry and go to Chesterfield to pick up Carol. She was spayed today. It is a long way from my house now. I haven't been there for a long time, but I still have it. As soon as they handed Carol to me, I lifted her up, glanced at her belly and said "that is a Dr Baker incision". I was right. There are four vets there and I can tell all their surgery styles apart. Carol was a good girl and slept all the way home.
The pups did a little better this evening and didn't cry or whine as much.

Happy birthday Mom

Today is my mom's 78th birthday. Happy birthday Mom. I love you.

After work today, Jill, Bryony, and I went to Mom's for a visit. After that we went to Lincoln Manor and picked up 7 of the puppies. Carol spent the night at the animal hospital because she is getting spayed tomorrow. These guys are so big. They range in weight from 13-17 pounds. Actually, they are much smaller than Velvet's puppies at this age.

When we got home we took the pups right outside. It was raining a bit so they didn't want to go out from under porch. When it was time for them to go bed for the night I started to split them up and put 3 in one play pen, and 4 in another. They put up a really big fuss so I put them all in the great big crate. They fussed and cried. They really missed their human mom and doggie parents.

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

After work today we had to fix a place up for the puppies. Francie's and Chevy's puppies are coming here for a vacation. We set up 2 puppy playpen areas and 2 big crates. The back yard is completely fenced in, so they will be able to go out and play. We better enjoy this last night of sleep.

Monday, June 30, 2008

Back to reality already. What a short whirlwind weekend that was. We both had to go back to work today.

Carol the puppy has been chosen. She will need to get spayed this week.

Back home again in Indiana

Can't say we were really ready to come home already, but here we are. It was so nice to be able to just come home and have our fur-ball kids (and naked chameleon)here waiting for us.

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Sometimes kids can come in handy. Michelle's daughter, Kristin, is taking care of Peanut Butter, Velvet, and Stink while we are gone. It was so nice not having to worry about finding someone to take care of them while we were gone.

Friday, June 27, 2008

What a fun day today was. Ann (Arabelle and Flynn) from the DoodleZoo come to be the witness and take pictures for our wedding. That was so nice. It was great. Afterwards we went out to eat. When it came time for the check, the waiter came over and said the lady that was sitting at next table paid for our dinner. He said she was getting teary and asked him to tell us congratulations. That was such a nice random act of kindness.

Thursday, June 26, 2008

What a long day

Today I went in to work at 6:30 in the morning. I was really hoping to get off early since I have an early morning flight to catch. Michelle and I are going to San Francisco this weekend. anyway...It turned out that no one was going to do the wound stuff tomorrow so I had to stay until all the reports and paperwork for the week was finished. I didn't get off work until almost midnight.

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Velvet hasn't gone to work with me for awhile. I've been waiting to see what my new was going to be. It seems I will be able to work it that I will do dressing changes in the morning, go home for lunch, come back and do paperwork in the afternoon. This afternoon I brought Velvet back with me for a few minuts. She was excited of course and wanted to go see everybody. Well...I ended up taking her back home after just a few minutes. One of the temporary residents who lives just a few rooms down from my office is terrified of dogs. She was outside while Velvet here (thank goodness). At least half a dozen people stopped me to tell me how afraid that resident is of dogs. I wasn't aware of that, so I quickly took Velvet back home. That resident will be going home in probably about another week, so Velvet will need to stay home until then.

Sunday, June 22, 2008

Velvet and Peanut have been enjoying raw chicken this past week. Peanut had never had it before. She loves it and does very well with it. She gets the necks and wings and Velvet gets the bigger pieces. Michelle was amazed, and probably a bit dismayed, that her little peanut is fierce enough to chomp down some raw chicken and bones.

Friday, June 20, 2008

Umm...hmm...I guess I only got one day to learn everything there is to know about being the Wound Care Nurse. I'll be able to figure it out. There are lots of resources. It is just trying to figure out all the paperwork and the forumulary and etc... sorry...this has nothing to do with doodles...

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Yeah, today I got to round with the nurse who has been the Wound Care Nurse. I felt an adreniline rush. This position is going to be a good fit.

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Velvet and Peanut Butter are so funny. Peanut is this little 5 pound Chihuahua thing and Velvet is this big 80 pound real dog. Yet...this evening Peanut was standing just inside our bedroom barking and growling at Velvet as if telling her she is NOT to come in. Velvet just stood there looking at her and then at me as if saying "I will do what you say, but please, I really want to come in". Velvet could eat Peanut in one bite, but she let her keep her out of the room. Of course I didn't put up with that for one minute. I picked Peanut up (with one hand of course, because she is like the size of a hairball) and took her upstairs to hang out with Jill. I do have to say one thing about Peanut, well 2 things: for a tiny dog she is excellent with Jill; and her size is really handy.
Someday soon I will get to start my new position at work. I'm excited. The hours are flexible so I'm hoping to be able to go in early and leave early enough to be able to go spend more time with the puppies.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

To stay or not to stay

Before I left on vacation, I told my boss I was likely not going to stay in their employ. The hours are too long and it requires too much on-call time. It just takes way too much time away from my Labradoodles (oh, and away from my family too). They offered me a couple different positions to stay and asked me to think about while I was away. I thought about it, and today I accepted the Wound Care Nurse position. The hours are better, less on call, and I can still take Velvet with me (just not in a room when I am tending to a wound). I absolutely love wound care, not surgical wounds, but big deep yucky pressure wounds (bed sores). Let me clarify that. I don't like it when patients get sores. I feel sad for them and sorry for them. As a nurse, the reason I like them is because they are measurable and (usually) fixable. I'm sure that patients usually get better in spite of what we do to them, not because of what we do for them. With wounds, I can actually see the results of my level of care. If I do everything just right and take meticulous care, my work pays off and the wound gets smaller and smaller and becomes healed. There is so much paperwork with this job. I have an office with my very own desk. I share an office with 2 other people. I will be able to take Velvet to work with me and she can stay in the office while I'm out doing dressing changes. This will be great.

Monday, June 16, 2008

Back to reality

Oh man, I so did not want to go back to work today. I've been off since the 4th, enjoying life with my family. whine whine

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Opie went home!

Yeah, Opie has a forever family...but man, what a day.

The family was supposed to come before noon. (this is Father's Day and I was kind of thinking about seeing my father who lives a couple hours away) Noon came and went and I didn't hear from them. I'm such a chicken when it comes to making phone calls. I have telephonaphobia, don't know why, it doesn't make sense, but that is how it is. Liz (Francie's guardian mom who lives at Lincoln Manor) callled for me. They left their house around 2Pm and didn't get here until around 10:00pm. They ran in to some terrible weather. It did get almost tornadoie here. It was really bad. What a horrible, long, slow drive they had. I ended up having to leave before they even got here. It was a school night and I needed to go pick up Jill and take her home. (We live about 45 minutes to an hour from the Lincoln Manor house). So, I bailed out, and Ally and Liz dealt with the family and sent Opie off to start his new life.

Packing up day

One of the pups is going home tomorrow! We aren't sure exactly which one. Today I made the puppy books and gathered up the stuff to send home with them. I did the paperwork and books for all of them so they will each be ready to go when they have found their family. I was up until almost midnight getting them ready. Wow, it reminded me of old times. Tomorrow I'm taking it over to Lincoln Manor to meet with the family. They are coming sometime before noon.

Friday, June 13, 2008

Group #2

The second group went in for spay/neuter. Today it was Mickey, Reba, and Ann. They did great too.

Yeah! I got to get Velvet today. She was sooo happy to see me, as I was her.

Michelle picked up Colonel Stink today. He has renal failure, but he looks much better. His colors are nice and dark.

Thursday, June 12, 2008

Off to the vet

The first round of Francie's puppies got spayed/neutered today. Today it was Lucy, Andy, and Opie. They did really well. They went in a little after 8:30 this morning, and the tech called shortly after noon to say they are ready to go home.

We are home now. We got home too late to go get Velvet and Colonel Stink. Michelle did go get Peanut Butter.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

The name theme

Francie's puppies are named: Mickey, Andy, Opie, Lucy, Reba, Ann, Miranda, Maureen. Can you figure it out? Usually I pick on older TV show (from Nick at Nite), but this time I didn't. Since Francie and Chevy live in the same guardian home and their family is raising the pups, they named them.

They didn't do a particular show...

They did name them after actors-actressess...

Francie has red hair...

Come on, you can do it...

They are famous redheads.

The names are only their (the pups') temporary names while they are here. We don't want to just call or refer to them as a number or a color, so we always give them a temp name. Their new families will be able to give them their real life long name.

We are in Memphis, TN now. We will be home tomorrow.

My credibility

Oh my, it seems my credibility has been compromised. Yup, someone emailed me to let me know that I have a picture of newborn puppies in a shoe on my website and that takes away from my credibility. She knows this because she and her family are interested in getting a Labradoodle and have read that breeders need to keep visitors away because they bring kooties in on their shoes. Here is the picture
I remember when I took this picture. I was so excited because I just received my first pair of Crocs in the mail. I opened the box, looked at the shoes, and had the bright idea of putting the pups in them for the picture (didn't even try them on yet). I wanted a way of showing just how small the puppies were. ... and now...after all this time I find out that because visitors can track kooties on shoes, I shouldn't have put pups in a new never worn pair. Hmmm, I can't quite connect those dots.

Bryony, Jill, Michelle, Kristen, and I are in New Orleans (The French Quarters) now.

Monday, June 09, 2008

This morning Teri was leaving her house to take Mother to the dr when she remembered something. She ran back in the house and didn't close the door all the way. Velvet nosed her way outside and ran down to our old house again. Once again she sat on the front porch in front of the door to wait for me to open it. Hmm, she would have had a very long wait. It was raining outside. Poor Teri, by the time she retrieved Velvet she was soaked. Velvet needs to straighten up or I'm not going to have anybody willing to keep her while we are in California next month.

Sunday, June 08, 2008

Hmmm, let's see...what happened today that was somewhat dog related? Well, when we were at the beach in Galveston, TX we saw this cute little doggie that looked part Chihuahua part mini Dachshund. When Michelle saw him she started missing Peanut whole bunches. She loves that little doggie. I got so burned today.

Saturday, June 07, 2008

Velvet misses the old house. She is staying with Teri while we are on vacation. Teri lives 3 doors down from the old house (the Lincoln Manor house). Today Teri though she'd see if Velvet would go from the front door to the back yard without having to be onleash. She opened the door, went out with Velvet, and zoom...Velvet made a B-line for the old house. She sat on the front porch in front of the door waiting to be let in. Teri said the puppies barked at Velvet. Poor thing...she misses us.

Michelle's daughter, Kristen, graduated from highschool today. It was at the Toyota center in downtown Houston. Man that place is huge. There were tons of people there. It was wonderful seeing all those people supporting the kids and their accomplishments.

I have to say I'm just a bit dissappointed that Houston doesn't seem to be too terribly different from Indiana. The dirt is red, true that is different. There are a few palm trees but not very many. Well, there are armidillos and that is very different. The people here don't have a cute southern drawl accent that I was expecting. The only difference that has jumped right out at me is they say "ya'll" instead of "you guys". Where I live, all groups of people are addressed as "you guys", even groups of women. O.k., let's see...red dirt, palm trees, armidillos, cow boy hats for sale at gas stations, overpasses a mile long way up high in the air...o.k., maybe Texas is a little different from Indiana. Tomorrow we are going to go do something. Not sure what we will do, but it will be something we can't do in Indianapolis.

Friday, June 06, 2008

I can see for miles and miles...

I can see for miles and miles of Texas... We are finally in Texas. Man, I sure do prefer flying, but this has been an o.k. road trip so far.

Teri sent an email to announce that Velvet finally peed on leash. I've not been able to get her (Velvet) to pee when out on a walk because she just won't go if she has a leash on. What a big break through. See? It is possible to teach an old dog new tricks.

Today would have been my grandparents 94th wedding anniversary...if they were still alive.

Today is the anniversary of D-Day.

Right now Bryony and I are sitting at the counter-desk thingie in the hotel room, each with our own computers. This is such a nice bonding experience. Jill is whiney wanting me to go lay down with her. I better do that. Bry is chomping at the bit wanting my computer since I have internet and she doesn't. Nitey nite

On the road again...

Road trip, road trip, we are on our way to Texas. We actually got on the road at 6:30 this morning. By 8:30 Jill was crying and saying she wanted to go home. Thank goodness that was only a brief moment. The girls did well today. We were checked in to our hotel by 6:00 this evening. We are staying in Little Rock, AR. Man, this is a high priced flea-bag hotel. I'm normally not picky, but if we are paying the price I expect a nicer place than this. We ate at the Purple Cow.

Today is my birthday

I'm so old. We spent the day today getting ready for our road trip. Michelle's daughter is graduating from high school in Texas on Saturday. Michelle, her mom and dad and their little dog, Bryony, Jill, and I are all going together in my van. We will be bringing her daughter, Kristen, home to live with us. This is so exciting. I've never been a step parent before.

We took our pets to various places this afternoon/evening. Colonel Stink went to the exotic pet hospital for boarding. He is still sick, so this will work out very well. Hopefully he will be all better by the time we get home. Velvet went to my sister's house. I'm concerned because, although she has a large back yard, it isn't fenced in. Velvet will not pee when she is on leash. Peanut went to Michelle's sister's house. It is kind of sad and quiet and lonely here without any pets.

Tuesday, June 03, 2008

So, I got off way late last night and told the boss I wasn't going to be in early today. Still...bright and early at 9:00 she called to see where I was. It seems she really didn't mean it when she said if I have to work a double I can take the next day off. I didn't intend to take off, just didn't plan on coming in very early. I told her I'd be there in about 1 1/2 hours. Then I high-tailed it right down to another nursing home a couple miles away that is offering a big sign-on bonus...

Monday, June 02, 2008

Man...I got stuck working a double shift today. We had a call-in, couldn't find another nurse to cover...and that meant I had no choice but to work it. Got off after midnight-thirty. I've had my girls for 3 days now and have had to work doubles on two of those days. Bryony already went back to her dad's house. Why should she stay in Indy if I'm going to be at work all the time. No way...

Sunday, June 01, 2008

Today we went to my family gathering. Over half the family were in NC at my neice's wedding. I was really nervous because I hadn't told them about...um...Michelle.

Wanna see some cute pictures of Francie's puppies?

Lacey had her puppies!!!

Wow, Teri picked Lacey up from her guardians this morning and drove her to Iowa. They met Kristy, the other breeder, who took Lacey to her house and got her settled in. Once settled, Kristy had to go back to work for a few hours. Kristy said when she got home Lacey had already had 2 puppies. She then had 7 more puppies. Kristy said Lacey seemed to have the easiest time of any dog she has had. She said she didn't seem to have contractions, that the pups just slipped out one by one. That is great, and surprising since she had to have a C-Section last time. Anyway, she had 9 puppies altogether:
3 black boys
2 black girls
1 chocolate boy
3 chocolate girls
Kristy is selling these pups, not me. I'm working on having a normal life. I do have 9 puppies of my own to sell right now...anybody want one?

I was stuck working 14 hours today. It was supposed to be my day of, but we had a call in and coulnd't find a replacement. Bummer

The girls are mine

Yeah! I got to go pick up Jill and Bryony. They are out of school for the summer and are mine for the summer. Jill and Peanut sure do love each other. It is so cute watching them.

My sister Teri came over to trade vehicles with me. She is taking my van to drive Lacey to Iowa. I'd really rather not ship Lacey to Iowa in her late stage of pregnancy. I'm afraid it might throw her in labor.

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Oh bummer! Honey is not pregnant. Now what? I'm disappointed.

I had to work way late today.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Velvet went to work with me for a couple of hours. She was so excited to get to go again. The residents like her.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Today was Velvet's first day to get to go to work with me. She was sooo excited when I got her leash and she saw she was going to go with me. Even though she had never been in that nursing home before, she behaved perfectly. I kept her with me for a couple hours then took her back home. She should start out slowly.

Saturday, May 24, 2008

Francie's puppies had their first round of shots and got micro chipped today. They all did so well, nobody yelled or cried or tried to get away. They are a really cute and well behaved bunch. The neighbor kids come over every day to play with them. ...sigh...now if we could only find families for them (the pups, not the kids)...

Friday, May 23, 2008

Oh Mannnnn....whinnnneeee....Tinker Belle is not pregnant. Kingston is already neutered so there is no chance of ever having another Dutchess offspring...whine....and I was going to keep one of their pups for our very own pet...whinnneeee. Tink is going to be spayed in a few weeks.

Thursday, May 22, 2008

I'm getting nervous about Lacey. She had to have a c-section last time, what if she has a hard time again this time? I called the other breeder who will be taking care of her just to make sure...well...just to make sure: she remembered Lacey had to have a c-section last time, she had the means for an emergency c-section if necessary, she feels comfortable with her vet's ability to do a section...and just to talk and get my nervousness out. Yes, she is aware, able, and has a great vet.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Lacey is going to Iowa

Here is the deal with Lacey...she is going to Iowa to have and raise her puppies, then she will come back here to her guardian family. She is going to Shelby Doodles www.mylabradoodles.com Kristy is the breeder there. She has been breeding for a long time and we have emailed and talked on the phone a bunch. We seem to have much of the same breeding views. Lacey's puppies will be Shelbydoodles, not Lincoln Manor doodles. Man...I'm so not looking forward to telling Lacey's guardians. She is their baby.

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Poor Ally, she is feeling it. She is feeling how difficult it is having a litter of puppies and several dogs and trying to keep the house sanitary and trying to get a bit sleep now and then. Hopefully the pups will start going home in a few weeks...if we could just get them sold (adopted).

Monday, May 19, 2008

Started my new job today. I'll give it a week or so before I start taking Velvet.

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Vacation is over now. We got back pretty late. We dropped Sarah off, picked up Velvet, dropped of Bryony, picked up Peanut, then went home to our very own shower and bed. I really missed Velvet. She is such a good girl.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

We are still in Chicago. This has been a nice vacation. Did I mention that we had to bring Colonial Stink with us? There is no Chamelon boarding facility around. He is very quiet, doesn't stink (despite his name) and he doesn't need walked. Michelle put up some fake leaves on a lamp in the hotel room, left that lamp on all time, and put Stink up on it. It has worked out very well.

This coming week we need to get better pictures of Francie and Chevy. I'm seriously considering getting them professionally groomed and professionally photographed. The quality of the parents photo on the website makes a big difference in how marketable the puppies are. Despite how cute the puppies are, I'm finding it difficult to get deposits on Francie and Chevy's puppies. I know it is because their pictures are not very good.

O.k., back to the vacation now. It is after 11:00p.m. and I've spent most of the day updating the website and diary.

Friday, May 16, 2008

In Chicago

We are still in Chicago. The girls are at the convention and Michelle and I are hanging out. She is really missing her Peanut.

Hmm....just might have to go to California for our next vacation in a couple of months.

Thursday, May 15, 2008

Chicago vacation

Today we (Michelle, Bryony, Bryony's friend Sarah, and I) went to Chicago for the Anime convention (yeehaw). Peanut went to Michelle's sister's house and Velvet went to the Lincoln Manor house. Poor Peanut (who am I kidding? It is poor Michelle...she loves that little dog) she will be all alone without Velvet or us. Velvet was excited to be back at the old house and was excited to see the puppies and other dogs. Speaking of the puppies...we took pictures. Here are a couple pictures. This is Mickey. He has been Michelle's favorite from the time of his bith (he is the smallest) Oh man...where did it go? I posted a whole big post on the chat page with all the pictures of the girls. Now that post is gone. Hang on...heavy dramatic sigh...I'll go do another post.

O.k., I'm back. Here are some more pictures. This is Maureen. I like her. Carol is a cute who gives Doodle hugs

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Peanut Butter is Michelle's Chihuahua. We have been having issues with her lately. I caught her peeing on Jill's bed and then she jumped up and peed on my side of our bed. I was not happy at all. That is clearly a dominance issue and has nothing to do with potty training. It is back to the basics for little Miss Peanut. She has to go back to not being allowed in our bedroom at night, no more free feeding, she has to be in the crate when we are not at home, and I will ignore her for the first 15 minutes I'm home after work. We will see if that take cares of the problem.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

What a long day today was. This was my last day working at the hospital. I worked from 5:00a.m. until 5:30p.m. Then I ran home and picked up Michelle and Scooter and we took him back to Ohio. It was 10:00p.m. before we got home.

Monday, May 12, 2008

Honey went back home today. Now we wait a month before she can have an ultrasound to see if she did get pregnant.

Poor Scooter. He cried this evening when we all went to bed. He has been used to sleeping with Honey at night. I felt sorry for him so we let him sleep in bed with us.

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Happy Mother's day

Honey and Scooter are having so much fun playing and romping and um...trying. Honey lets us hold her still now; but Scooter won't let us help or collect from him. I tried collecting from him and was going to artificially inseminate Honey. But he was so shy he wouldn't give it up. Hey! I just realized something. Remember when Josie and Cooper wouldn't do it with each other? It was like watching two gay people trying to get pregnant without doing it. Well, Honey is Josie's daughter and now here we are having troubles getting her to do it with a hired stud too. Hopefully they have already done it when we weren't around. Maybe they are modest.

JillyBean plays soccer

Jill is playing soccer for the first time. She is on a team and they had their second game today. It was so cute and she had such a great time.

The doggie party continues at our house.

Friday, May 09, 2008

We had a fun doggie party today. They had lots of fun playing and romping, but no lovin'. We tried to help Scooter out by holding Honey still and having her stand by a step so he could stand tall enough to reach her. She wouldln't hold still and he wouldn't even try to make an attempt when we were there. We didn't see the point in taking them to the reproductive specialist. Scooter was too modest.

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Scooter is a little cutie

Honey's husband is Scooter from Westwood Labradoodles in Columbus, OH. He is a little guy that weighs about 17 pounds. He is a young stud and this is his first job. This is Honey's first time too. I sure hope they will be able to figure it out on their own. Scooter lives in a guardian home in northern Ohio. Helene, his breeder, drove way up and picked him up, then drove back down and met us just inside the Ohio line. He is so cute. Bryony sat in the back of the van to keep him company. She (Bryony) cracks me up. She says how she is so over the dogs and pups...yet she melted when she saw Scooter and wanted to go cuddle with him. When we got to back to town we dropped Scooter off at Honey's house, took Bryony to her house, then went back to pick up Honey and Scooter and bring them our house. They like each other and were excited to have a doggie slumber party. They didn't figure anything out this evening. Scooter is like many other first time studs and...um...kept trying for the wrong end of the female (kept going for her head).

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

Honey is almost ready to breed. She had another progesterone test and the vet said to breed her Friday and Sunday. I need to get with the stud's breeder to get him.

Monday, May 05, 2008

I started my new job today. I'm in management at a nursing home a few blocks from my house. That will be wonderful. Jill's summer day care is between our house and the nursing home. Velvet and I will be able to walk Jill to her school then continue walking to our job. I've been driving 45 minutes each way to the hospital and spending almost $10 a day in gas. This will be so much better and Velvet will be much happier at being able to go back to work too. This is an inner city (Indianapolis) nursing home that serves the indigent. I'm excited.

Friday, May 02, 2008

Honey had another progesterone test today. She is getting closer but still not ready to breed.

Thursday, May 01, 2008

Lacey is pregnant

Lacey's pregnancy has been confirmed. She is pregnant! The vet saw 8 pups for sure, and possibly 3 more. She will be going to another breeder's to have and raise her puppies.

Monday, April 28, 2008

Honey had her first progesterone test today. It showed that yes she is in heat, and no she is not ready to breed. She will be re tested in a few days.

Friday, April 25, 2008

Honey is in heat!!

Yea! It is about time. Honey is finally in heat. She is the daughter of Josie and DaVinci and was born...oh shoot...when is her birthday? (I'm out of town right now and don't access to the records). Anyway she is about 18 months old or so.
This is Honey's baby picture
Here she is at 8 weeks old.
Honey at 7 months
She will have progesterone testing next week and we will breed her with a little guy from Westwood Labradoodles in Ohio.

What should I be when I grow up

This working in a hospital is killing me. I hate it. All those sick people who are in pain and have tubes and drains and body parts sticking out of them....ooooo I feel sorry for them. They expect me to help them, but I have too many patients and not enough help and it just isn't safe. If we could just have a reasonable patient assignment life there would be good. I've been interviewing for another management position in a nursing home. That way I can take Velvet to work with me.

Mending broken fences

Oops, sorry Michelle. I had complained about our broken gate shortly after I moved in here. We couldn't let the dogs outside alone because they could slip out of the gate. Michelle fixed it a long time ago. I forgot to mention that. It seems Michelle reads this diary and she reminded me about the gate. Since she reads this does that mean I will have to be careful about how I phrase when reporting on her Chahuahua's (Peanut) favorite poo and potty spots?
Seriously, Michelle is wonderful about seeing what needs to be fixed and fixing it. I'm gonna have to get used to that.

Since when are they shy?

Hmm...I may have spoken too soon when I said Lacey and DaVinci are doing it. She was in heat and they live in the same guardian home and they did it all the time last time she cycled. I guess I just assumed they would have at it this time too. I just spoke with the guardian mom to make sure they (Lacey and DaVinci) did hook up at least once. If they did, nobody saw it. The guardian parents are away from the home during the day, so there is a chance they were discreet this time and only did it in private. I kinda doubt that. DaVinci is not shy. He will do it anytime anyplace. Lacey is so in love with DaVinci that she will do whatever it takes to please him.
Chances are she was at her peak fertile time when the guardians were on vacation and DaVinci was at the kennel and Lacey was here with us. That is o.k. really. We don't want to have too many puppies at one time.

The Puppies Are Here!

I'm so excited! Today was a great day. The bummer thing was I had to work from 5:00 a.m. (I have to get up at 3:00 a.m. - have I whined about that lately?) until 6:00 p.m. Today sometime in the afternoon Ally called to announce we have a puppy girl! I was excited but feeling helpless because I was stuck at work. She said Francie had been up all night trying to dig and nest. A little bit ago she took Francie in the bathroom and encouraged her lay down. Ally went back about 5 or 10 minutes later and was surprised to see a perfect puppy. Francie had done it all herself and hadn't even cried or complained about it. What a woman!

Michelle and I hurried on over to Lincoln Manor as soon as I got off work. On the way there, Kingston's guardian mom called to announce that he and Tinkerbelle had a successful breeding via Artificial Inemination at the vet's office today!! yeah hurray I'm sooo excited...I'm sooo going to keep one of those puppies for myself. I'm sooo excited...did I already say that?

So anyway...Francie had already had 3 puppy girls by the time we got there. We got to see 6 more be born. I loved it. This was the first time Michelle has seen pups born. She was digging it too. Francie had 6 girls and 3 boys, all apricot. I'm really surprised they are all apricot. All seem healthy too.
Can you believe I didn't take my camera? Thank goodness Michelle had her cell phone camera.

Tucker's guardian was there for the birthing party too. It was fun. We had Pizza. I love pizza. I love having puppies too. Put the two together while we are all crammed in the bathroom together and it is a fun party. I'm being serious, not sarcastic.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

TinkerBelle and Kingston had a date.

Wow, do you remember TinkerBelle? She is our tiny little 17 inch tall multigen Goldendoodle. It has been about 1 1/2 years since she cycled last. I'd given up on her having another litter. Well surprise surprise, she is in heat finally. Do you remember, or know, Kingston? He is our tiny 11 pound F1B stud boy. I'm trying to get these two to breed. They had a date over the weekend, but Tinkerbelle wasn't interested in him. Today they had a date at the vet's office. Today it was Kingston that wasn't interested. Bummer. I really really want a Tink/Kingston puppy. Hopefully they will get together another day this week...and uh...really get together.

Monday, April 14, 2008

The deal with Francie

Francie and Chevy are two of my breeding dogs. They are living together in the same guardian home. Actually they are living in the Lincoln Manor home that I just moved out of. Since that place is all set up for whelping and raising puppies, and since Ally stays at home and I don't, and since they are excited about having puppies there...we all just decided Francie would have her puppies at her guardian home. I have to work 4 long days this week and it just didn't make sense for me to keep her here while I'm at work when she could be at her home with Ally. I think Velvet was dissappointed when I took Francie. She loves puppies and gets excited to see them. Francie went back to her house yesterday before Jill's party.

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Jill's 6th Birthday!!

Today is JillyBean's 6th birthday. Happy birthday Jill, I love you. She had a fun birthday party complete with a rousing game of Pin the tail on the donkey.

Friday, April 11, 2008

Francie spends the night

Francie's guardian family was nervous and thinking she was going in labor. They were afraid something would go wrong...and frankly, birthing is my favorite thing to do, so I picked her up after work today and brought her home to spend the night. Did she poo in the house? Are you kidding?? of course she pood in the house.
I'm off work this weekend and hopefully we will have puppies.

Tuesday, April 08, 2008

goings on

Man, I'm really tired and can barely stay awake. Let me give you the real quick update:

-Kami's puppies have all found homes (one was donated to be a service dog for a boy with autism.
-Abby has a job and being trained to be a service dog.
-Francie is going to have her puppies within the week.
-Lacey is in heat and she and DaVinci are doing it.
-Tinkerbelle just started her cycle and will be bred with Kingston.
-Velvet and Peanut are buddies now (Velvet is giving Peanut a bath as we speak).
-The neighbors dogs bark a lot, but ours don't.

Friday, February 29, 2008

We are getting puppies

We are getting 3 pups that are out of Lincoln Kami. They are coming to us from Canine Crossroads in Texas next week. They will be 8 weeks old and already spayed/neutered and ready for new homes. I'll tell you their story later. Right now it is way past my bedtime. With my new job I have to get up at 3:00 in the morning. That means I have to go to bed with the chickens.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

Abby is really not pregnant

We are not having puppies after all. Did I already mention that. I'm so sad. Now what? Abby need to find a home now. All that $$ spent on breeding her and getting her here, now I need to give her away to a great home. Know anybody that wants a great dog that does shed? Just let me know and I can hook you up. A good arm for throwing balls for her is required.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Late entry

Man...this is what I get for writing this entry over a month late...I can't remember what happened. Sometime in February we went to a romp. I took Velvet and Abby. They had a blast. Abby found a ball and a pre-teen boy to throw it for her. She could have chased that ball all day, she loved it. There were some Lincoln Manor pups there. It was a fun family reunion. Ginger, from Ashes and Meeko, was there. She has really lightened up and is quite the beauty. Cooper, from Lacy and DaVinci, was there. I'm so surprised at how small he is. He is 8 months old and not even 40 pounds. He has a wonderful coat and is just an all around delight. We had so much fun.

New job

I started a new job today. I feel so sought-after. I'm telling you...nursing is the profession to be in now. I had as many job offers as I had interviews. The position I choose isn't the hightest paying one up front. However, I should get a raise in a few months, and I should be able to end up working inpatient hospice which is what I so want.

New Neighbors

We still haven't fixed the gate, so I have to go outside with the girls when they go out. Yesterday morning I rolled out of bed, threw a robe on, and at the last second decided to put a long coat on, and took the dogs out. Dang, I need to remember I'm not out in the country anymore. I'm used to being able to go out in the back yard in my jammies and not worrying about anybody seeing me. I'm so glad I thought to put a long coat on. Just a few minutes after we were out there, the neighbor on one side went out with her dogs too. They have a beautiful chocolate Lab and a um...I foget what kind of mix the other was. The Lab came bounding up to the fence (It is about a 4 1/2 ft or so privacy fence). She stood up on her back legs and peered her nose and eyes over the top of the fence. Abby came up to her and did the same. Velvet wasnt' quite tall enough, so she was a kangadoodle in order to greet her new neighbor. Their other dog was on a leash was was just barking away. The neighbor said they want to play. There is another neighbor who brings his dogs over there to play and that is what their dogs want to do. This is going to be good. I told her that would be good for them to get together and play, just not at 8:00 saturday morning (thinking in my head...if I had brushed my teeth/hair and gotten dressed then I'd love to get them together now). I am excited though at having good neighbors. Just to clarify: all but one of my neighbors at my old house were terrific.

I have doodles again

I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to go get Velvet and Abby and bring them to my new house. They certainly seem very happy to be here with me. They get along just fine with Peanut. It is just one big Doodle party here now.
Here is Abby

Now we have to fix the gate so they can run outside without someone being out there with them.

The Traffic Report

I live in the big city of Indianapolis now. I don't live near it, I live in it. We live on a busy street and we can't back out of our driveway during rush hour. The other evening I got stuck in the mud in the backyard trying to turn around. I wasn't just a little stuck...I was stuck in thar gooood. Michelle and I worked and worked at it. She even jacked it up and put something under the tires, to no avail. We gave up and waited until yesterday to try again. Her parents came over to help. So just imagine this...I was "driving", Michelle and her parents were in the front trying to push me back; I spun the tires flinging mud all over Michelle's parents, especially the mom. I wanted to die. Thank goodness they are good sports. Anyway...know what we used to finally get some traction? Kitty litter of course, the good clumping kind.

I really got sidetracked, I was going to talk about the traffic. Let's see, where was I? Oh yeah, old country roads vs over passes and 14 lane highways...shiver... So, anytime we go anyplace we have to face a bunch of traffic. I'm so not used to that. I'm used to living out surrounded by corn fields and maybe getting stuck behind a tractor or a truck loaded with bales of hay or something. I hate city driving. When I deliver pups to the airports I always try to get them on a 6:00a.m. flight just so I have to have them there by 4:00a.m. and beat all the Indy traffic. Well, bad news is there is no getting away from facing the traffic now. The good news is I think I'm getting used to it already. Yesterday as I was merging on to 465 from I70 I found myself reaching for my cell phone to call my mom. It was a habit for me to make phone calls when I would be driving out in the country with little/no other traffic. As soon as I realized what I was doing yesterday I put the phone down. I am also starting to pass people that are driving too slow. whooohooo I'm getting brave.

The doods are fine and having a great time. Everyday is a doodle romp for them.

The low and dirty lowdown

O.k. o.k. alright already....I don't have time for a long entry so here is the really quick scoop:

-All of Rosie's puppies have gone home now
-Rosie is spayed and living forever in her forever home
-Chrissy has gone on to her forever home in SC
-Abby arrived from Canada. She is an F1 adult Labradoodle that is pregnant by a little Poodle. She has very excellent health test results. The pups are due March 3rd and we have plenty of available pups in that litter.
-We have available puppies from a litter we are sharing with another breeder. The mom is our Kami (she went with me to be on the Today Show when she was a puppy). The pups are in Texas at www.caninecrossroads.com
-A guardian family's house burned. They and their 5 doods (Chevy, Francie, Chloe, Mazie, Tucker) are staying at our house along with Velvet and Abby.
-I moved to Indianapolis. I no long have the same phone number or insightbb.com email address.
-I...um...have a new life partner. Her name is Michelle.
-I start a new job closer my new house next week. I'll be working 3 12 hour day shifts a week and am really excited.
-My van died and I had to buy a new one. It has a remote start that is neater than sliced bread.

Now what do I do?

I have to decide within the next few days in which direction my breeding program will go. I had some major life changes last year and there is another going on right now.

and the last to go will see the others go before him...

Ruffi went home this evening. Well, he didn't exactly go home, but he did go to his new dad. His new dad flew in (first class of course) from his home in San Francisco to pick him up and take him back home (in first class of course). The dad didn't want to make a turn around trip so they stayed in a hotel tonight. My girlfriend, Michelle, and I took Ruffi to the hotel. We thought we were just going to stay in the lobby. The dad invited us to his room to go over the paperwork and stuff. I didn't think a thing about it and just trotted on back after him. When we got to his room I happened to glance over at Michelle and noticed the deer-in-the-headlights look on her face. That is when it dawned on me that I was doing something that some people would think is not safe. Some people would think it wasn't safe to go to a stranger's hotel room. Everything was fine though. Michelle was right there with me. She would protect me if need be, but there was no need. The dad was not a crazy guy like from Law and Order. We did just go over the paperwork and other instructions.

Now it is just Velvet and Chrissy.
